Critics say that it is Maxim Bernard’s scope and range as a pianist that set him apart from the others. He can play with great power, and still maintain intimate sensitivity in his music. A prizewinner of many competitions, he earned the prestigious Doctor of Music degree from Indiana University. Maxim has prepared a number of wonderful recital programs including a special Remembrance Day recital commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First World War. He will also pay tribute to Vladimir Horowitz, as he recreates the legendary pianist’s most famous recital. To satisfy his romantic side, he also undertook his own superb solo-piano transcription of Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasy which he includes in his “Star-Crossed Lovers” recital.
