On his new cd, "The Same Light", Lester Quitzau unveils sensitive, finely-crafted songs showcasing his writing skills, soul-drenched blues sure to satisfy his longest-standing fans, and three instrumental pieces that transcend limiting tags like 'jazz' or 'folk' or 'roots'.  It closes with a powerful treatment of Pete Seeger's "To My Old Brown Earth", blending many of the CD's musical flavors into a heartfelt statement of our shared responsibility toward the fragile, beautiful planet we occupy together.   
As a live performer, Lester displays his virtuosity as a guitarist and vocalist that have won him growing critical acclaim and admiration over the past 20 years, whether as a solo blues performer, a member of the Juno award-winning group Tri-Continental, or currently with his trio that includes bassist/producer Joby Baker (Alex Cuba, Marc Atkinson) and drummer/percussionist Bill Hicks.
