JOHNNY & JUNE - A MUSICAL LOVE STORY is a heartfelt homage to the love and music of music legends Johnny Cash and June Carter-Cash. Curated and performed by married New York theatre veterans Kyrst Hogan and Doug Thoms, who created this show as a way to share their own love for each other through the timeless love story of Johnny & June. The storytelling text is based on interviews, letters and biographies written by Cash, Carter and their families, and is woven together by 25 acoustic musical selections drawn from their vast legacy. Set against a backdrop of projected imagery and including several costume changes, the duo accompany themselves on guitar, autoharp, banjo and percussion instruments, even getting some audience members in on the action!

"Doug (Johnny) and Kyrst (June) don’t just sing Johnny Cash songs. They are entertainers. They put on a polished, smooth, impressive show every time they take the stage. This is not a Johnny Cash “Tribute Show”, this is a personal experience with Kyrst and Doug. Their passion fills the stage with a new energy for the songs and music which have been part of another generation. Audiences may enter the theatre as Johnny Cash fans, but they leave as Doug and Kyrst Fans."
- Dan Heerts, Artistic Director - Marie W. Heider Centre for the Arts, Wisconsin
