In 2014, Scrap Arts Music relocated to Victoria BC and began work on a new production for debut in 2018, entitled: CHILDREN OF METROPOLIS ~ A musician’s curious quest changes the fate of the world…
The future of humankind depends on making the most from the least. "Children of Metropolis" is the greatly anticipated new production by the creative team of Gregory Kozak and Justine Murdy. This all new production chronicles one musician’s whimsical quest for identity, reinvention and a sense of place in a world that’s been forever changed. Featuring all new invented instruments, original melodic music, and the same outstanding athletic multi-instrumentalists for which Scrap Arts Music has rightly gained world-wide acclaim, since 2001.
Founded in 1998, Scrap Arts Music delivers intricate rhythms, raw energy, athletic choreography and the hottest –most inventive and musical– reuse of materials on stage today.
With instruments fashioned from industrial scrap and offbeat materials ranging from sawmill parts to artillery shells, Scrap Arts Music’s original music is as visually striking as it is sonically riveting. Audiences from four continents have welcomed this electrifying quintet with unbridled enthusiasm, embracing their intoxicating mix of music, movement and spectacle.
Transcending language, culture and age, Scrap Arts Music offers a highly physical, wildly theatrical and thoroughly entertaining taste of the musical vanguard
