Compaigni V'ni Dansi is a unique company that brings together traditional Métis and contemporary dance for audiences, professional dancers, communities, and youth under the artistic direction of Yvonne Chartrand. A central objective of the company is to promote, preserve and perform Métis dance. They achieve this objective through sharing performances and learning with Métis and Aboriginal youth.
 
Performances by Compaigni V'ni Dansi can range from informal 'kitchen parties' in which traditional Métis dance is showcased to full-scale performances blending Métis and contemporary dance such as Gabriel's Crossing and The Crossing. The company continues to create a repertoire of contemporary dance pieces reflecting humanity within a blend of cultures. Current touring plans include ongoing workshops across Canada and a community collaboration project in St. Laurent, Manitoba (summer 2009).  We are actively starting to look for touring dates for our new solo work, Stories from St. Laurent, which will feature our Artistic Director Yvonne Chartrand as performer/choreographer.
