Jazz Affair is a grouping of 6 unique voices that make a whole, full of colour and energy: Luce Bélanger (soprano) Marie-Pier Deschênes (mezzo-soprano), Camille Legault Coulombe (alto), Jean-François Aubin (tenor), Louis Laprise (baritone) et Christian B. Poulin (bass). They have a varied repertoire of jazz standards and personal arrangements of popular songs to which they add a jazzy flavour.

In April 2012, the vocal band was chosen to attend the Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival in New York city where it won 2 prizes; the prize for best arrangement and the prize for best soloist, given to Marie-Pier Deschênes. Jazz Affair will launch its first album "Jam", in Jan 2016.

Wishes

Inspired by Baroness Pannonica de Koenigswarter and her three wishes, Jazz Affair offers you to travel to the heart of desire, dream and imagination. The vocal group taps into a repertoire of jazz standards and songs that make you dream, the way Nica did when she asked the greatest jazz musicians their 3 wishes in life. The six singers perform songs from Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Charlie Parker from the 40’s and 50’s New York jazz scene as well as others from different eras. With its original and rich arrangements, Jazz Affair leads you through a night in which all can sing about love, pleasure and liberty, beyond generations and boundaries. Jazz Affair have recently presented a showcase in Vancouver at Pacific Contact in March 2017.
