Thomas Carbou is a sound expert. Sometimes improvising, always surprising, Carbou is a guitarist, composer, arranger, percussionist and sampler all at once. The result: bold, pleasantly complex music. Flirting with elements of traditional music and folk, Thomas Carbou's universe, however, can be best described as timeless electro-jazz, deployed without resistance.

Throughout the years, Carbou participated in numerous international projects in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Vietnam, the United States and Canada, which led to as many fruitful artistic collaboration. In 2007, he was awarded Le Prix création/résidence de la Ville de Québec at the Bourse RIDEAU for his album In Motion. In 2010, he elaborated the soundtrack to Denis Villeneuve's documentary Se souvenir des cendres - Regards sur Incendies. The film received the Gémeaux award in the best cultural documentary category.
