Canadian pianist Shoshana Telner has performed across Canada & abroad. She made her solo orchestral début with the National Arts Centre Orchestra at the age of 16, & has since performed as soloist with orchestras including the Québec Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Classical Orchestra, & the National Academy Orchestra. As a chamber musician she has collaborated with artists including violist Steven Dann, cellists Shauna Rolston, Denis Brott, & Andrés Díaz, violinist Menachem Breuer, clarinetist Simon Aldrich, & soprano Ingrid Attrot. Her solo & chamber music performances have been heard often on CBC radio. In 2010, Shoshana became a member of the Philadelphia based Shir Ami Ensemble.

She has participated in numerous festivals including the Montreal Chamber Music Festival, the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival, the Brott Music Festival, and the Juilliard School’s Focus! Festival & Piano Century series. She has been awarded several honors in national & international competitions including the Honens International Piano Competition, the Canadian Concerto Competition, the International Stepping Stone Competition & the Hilton Head International Piano Competition.

Shoshana received a Bachelor’s degree on full scholarship from Boston University, a Master’s degree from the Juilliard School in New York, & a Doctorate in performance from McGill University in Montreal. She has taught piano and coached ensembles at McGill University, the University of Ottawa, & Wilfrid Laurier University. She frequently gives masterclasses, adjudicates competitions, & examines for the Royal Conservatory of Music. In September 2007 she moved to Hamilton, Ontario where she currently teaches at the music faculty of McMaster University.

Shoshana’s recordings include solo works of Canadian composer Colin Mack, the Grieg violin/piano sonatas with Jeremy Bell, Mozart Sonatas and Sonatinas (The Mozart Effect) & the six J.S. Bach Keyboard Partitas.
