"... let me rave about SWARM.  These four highly creative, talented and personable musicians played to a sold out audience Saturday night and the show was held over for a matinee on Sunday.  The humour made it so kids thoroughly enjoyed it, and the sheer high energy level kept everyone's eyes riveted to the stage.  From toilet plungers to tea kettles, PVC tubing to oil cans, you just never knew what was going to be turned into a percussion instrument next as these four made everyone dizzy, spinning the instruments around the stage in some wild and crazy dance.  It's been a while since I've seen something so innovative, fresh and crazy.  What a score for the RCA to bring in this show.  Well done."   Glenna Turnbull, Kelowna Capital News, 2008

SWARM captivates audiences of all ages with their invented instruments, original music and intense physical choreography. Performers play handcrafted drum sculptures while jumping, leaping and dancing around them. Live video projected on to a parachute screen projects multiple views of the exciting choreography. There are humorous skits with plungers, exhaust pipe tubes, drums corralled with bungee cords and a wheeled musical bathtub.

Bill Wallace, founder and director of SWARM, designs and constructs the large sculptural instruments incorporating recycled materials. They range from a vast array of drums, to musical body costumes, vacuum-whirligig bagpipes, water gongs, exhaust pipe hoses, stainless steel shakers, a marimba and pendulum longstring sculptures.

SWARM presents school shows with student participation and Q&A, acoustic festival sets, club and theatrical shows.

"It's brash. It s even a bit bonkers Listen long enough to them and the STOMP comparisons are drowned out. SWARM is more musical, although trying to spot cultural touchstones of these musicians is near to impossible, even for them." Peter Grainger, Reporter, CTV, Vancouver, BC.
