Plaid People Music is based in the northern mountain town of Smithers, BC in western Canada. We represent and book performing musicians known for engaging their audience and impacting them with their stories. Our current roster includes Canadian singer-songwriters Kym Gouchie, Mark Perry, Rachelle van Zanten, and Mip.

Our performing artists are rooted in folk, blues, rock, and indigenous music and are primarily oriented towards theatre concerts and music festivals. Some artists also specialize in school shows and conferences with experience in songwriting and recording workshops, youth music camps, kids shows (for them and with them), and participating in mentorships, panel discussions, and emceeing events.

The agency is spearheaded by Sandra Smith who combines her passion for the performing arts with 20+ years of business management. She continues to partner with marketing firm BC Designworks to ensure her artists — and the presenting venues they perform at — have the supporting promotional tools they need. Sandra represents her artists at music conferences across North America and enjoys meeting new industry folk and looking for collaborative opportunities. She is dedicated to supporting both artists and presenters to make each project a success. At her core, she is an entrepreneur who is driven to help people seize the day.
